Steven A. Logan

Creating designs and colorful paintings has facinated me since I was a child, but only recently have I begun to sell my artwork. Except for a workshop taught by Terry Isaac and evening art classes, I am basically self-taught.

Since I started painting seriously on the threshold of the 21st Century, I wanted to enter the new century armed with an arsenal of materials and techniques that were thoroughly modern. Acrylic paints were developed in the middle of the 20th Century and, in my opinion, are the most versatile of all the painting media. Although I work in other media, especially water colors and pastels, acryilics are my primary medium.

I have experimented extensively with different techniques, and over the years have developed a single focus. My efforts are targeted on developing truly luminous paintings while retaining rich dark colors and opaque impasto strokes. My emergent style is informed largely by the transparent layering techniques of the Masters and by the luminous work of Maxfield Parish. My goal is to produce representational works of fine art that appear to glow from within.
